Chaos Chronicles Podcast 430, The Cleava and Coach Taylor & Jason Katims wins an Emmy

by Lian on September 18, 2011

Hi, all…

A quick Sunday night post. The boys have turned on Top Gear… so I decided to retreat to my office for a few minutes to catch up on Chaos Chronicles Podcast 430, the Cleava and Coach Taylor.

I  promised the link to  Chaos Crew regular/Navy Wife/Mom of Four/Parent Coach Erin’s review of the Cleava on Podcast 430 and here it is! Been There Done That Mom Erin weartests– and photographs–  the lacy piece of material that camouflages your decollete when necessary. Thanks, Erin.

Erin also does an amazing job writing about Special Needs issues. Don’t miss her comprehensive post on IEPs this week.

Finally, the Emmy goes to Coach Taylor. He can put it next to his trophy for winning State. I wish he'd worn that windbreaker to the Emmys. That would have been awesome.

Lots more this week on Chaos Chronicles. But let’s just take a moment to savor our victory: Coach Taylor wins his EmmyAnd Series Executive Producer Jason Katims wins his Emmy for writing! We did it, Satellite Sisterhood and Chaos Crew. We saved Friday Night Lights years ago and finally, the hero for our times, Coach Taylor/Kyle Chandler wins an Emmy for his performance in the show’s final (brilliant) season. I believe the scene where he storms out of the house with the baseball bat and starts smashing the car of the college professor who slept with his daughter was the clincher for the Emmy voters. It was for me.

If only Riggins could have given him the award, it would have been a perfect night.

And Jason Katims, a truly brilliant TV writer finally, finally takes home an Emmy for years worth of great scripts, killer lines and the best marriage depicted on TV in my recent memory– maybe ever! The ends his lovely, gracious speech with the words:

Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose.

Still choked up…

I took the kids to swim team tonight and noticed a sign for a home grown Biggest Loser walking club. I kid you not it said “refreshments after walk at ____”. Oh, the irony.

ah yes….the DMV…how did I forget so soon??? my middle daughter is 33 now; 17 yrs ago when she uneventfully passed and earned her drivers’ license…she was listed as a male, due to a” fault in the system”…
it was a long afternoon for us while the system returned her to what her application stated …she is a female…like you say…there is nothing to do but wait, accept and be grateful in the end.
thank you for the interesting updates on all you have been wonderfully exciting…rooting for you all the way…

Thanks for the pro-Helen support. Haven’t heard anything yet- so no news is sometimes good news.

And yes, the Amy Poehler lead pageant was a classic Satellite Sister moment. With the perfect Hollywood ending! Lian

I watched the beginning briefly, & by chance, when Kyle won. I felt rather a part of that win. Congratulations all around. What is with the long, long, long show. I kept expecting it to be over, no, they were still babbling on, flip the channel, come back hour later, still on….geez. Not much was funny or original.

Congrats on the license too!
All of you!

Great pod cast as usual.

It was extremely interesting learning the process of getting TV shows on the air. Considering some of the shows that make it I always kind of thought that the TV executives had this giant dartboard in their offices with the names of the proposed TV shows and wherever the darts landed that was the shows that made it.

You always amaze me at how willing you are to tackle new things. Working on two projects at the same time it is a wonder you even had time for a pod cast. I have moved on from the one project because HELEN OF PASADENA is a slam dunk. We are all watching you accept the Emmy for best comedy (For either Helen or Chaos) from Kyle Chandler. The other project interests me now as when anyone says they can’t talk about something, it kind of sends me on a mission to figure it out. About one out of a thousand guesses I get right. When the Sisters were on the air I would say to people “They OWN radio.”

I was elated, even jumped up and yelled when FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS won the writing and best acting awards. Way to go Chandler and Jason Katims!!!

I’m glad your son has his license and you can delegate dog and milk chores.

Loved the podcast. I think Helen of Pasadena would be a great show and provide entertainment for an underserved demographic- 40 something women!! Also, I got my driver’s license at the DMV on Rosemead many years ago. Good times!! Hooray for Coach Taylor!!! We here in Austin love FNL – they filmed it here and you always had a chance of running into the stars in town. It was fun seeing the city in the episode and trying to figure out where they were. Do you watch Parenthood? Good show by the same writer/creater and Vince Howard is on it.

Wasn’t it a great Satellite Sisterhood moment when Amy Poehler led the movement for the other nominees for best actress in a comedy to take to the stage and support each other for their terrific performances. And they could just stand together and take in the standing ovation!

I love Coach Taylor/Kyle Chandler. I am so glad he got the award. Better late than never.
