Moo for Moolah! Click here for more information

Hi,  Chaos Crew! Good Monday Morning. Yes, a post featuring milk that will not touch on chocolate milk in schools. Remember, I ceded on that issue. You win, white milk advocates. Think of this post as “reaching across the aisle”– because I know our public schools need funds and that the Chaos Crew is filled with excellent school volunteers who can organize a fund drive.

In the spirit of solidarity,  I wanted to let California parents know about a terrific school fundraising program going on now thanks to Real California MilkReal California Milk is supporting California schools by launching the Real Seal Appeal program and awarding California schools with up to $2 million in cash, books and prizes. It’s a win-win for California families , because the Real Seal Appeal program supports both the 1620 California dairy families and California schools. Can I get a “Moo?”

School districts participating include Pasadena Unified and Los Angeles Unified, so listen up locals!

Here’s how it works:

  • Serve up some California milk, butter, ice cream, yogurt and nonfat dry that features the Real California Milk seal
  • Collect Real California Milk seals from milk and dairy products and turn them in to teachers at participating schools
  • Each seal acts as a sweepstakes entry – the more seals collected and turned in, the more chances your child’s classroom (and school) has to win.
  • Real California Milk will dole out 2 million dollars in cash and books (in conjunction with Scholastic.)

This is a great, easy fund-raising opportunity for schools, with top prizes being $20,000, $10,000 and $5,000 for three schools each – and 2,595 other schools will be awarded $500. Can I get another “Moo?”

So rally your classmates, neighbors, church groups, Girl Scout Troops, soccer teams and start collecting those Real Seals. It’s a great cause, but seriously, does anyone really need a reason to eat more cheese? I think not.
