Embracing my Chaos, Lian

Bill, I agree. I was disturbed by the concept that this sort of abusive relationship was being characterized as romantic. And we rented Dragon Tattoo last weekend and was shocked at the violence and/or emotional abuse in EVERY relationship . wow. I hadn’t read the books so I was really taken aback my the dark, bleak storyline and the dark relationships.

I will keep writing… Lian

They talked about Fifty Shades Of Grey on the Dr. Oz show yesterday. I’m really concerned about what is passing for literature today. I’m afraid that there are some out there that will use the books as excuses for bad behavior.

I didn’t read the Girl With A Dragon Tattoo but I went to the movie. It was basically two hours of abusing women.

From the conversation on OZ I came away with the conclusion that it was sexually exciting for the woman to be extraordinarily submissive. Another form of abuse.

I am afraid if that is what is sexy, what love is, and what relationships are I will remain alone the until the end of my life.

Why can’t we just have a romantic novel where just being in each other company is sexy? Or raising kids together or going through traumas or joys together is love?

Get busy on your next book, Lian. I will take HELEN OF PASADENA anytime over the garbage like the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo or Fifty Shades of Grey anytime.

Thanks on the heads up about 50 shades of grey … really does not appeal to me not for the obvious reasons … I just automatically resist anything that is popular and can’t take jumping on bandwagons for the sake of jumping. I like to decide for myself, but from what you’ve said, it doesn’t sound like the kind of time worth wasting.

I was right there with you for that lab draw…its murder..they don’t get it about that one cup of coffee…
I worry about it for days to come, and have no mercy on a waiting room annoyance.. long cold stare will do it..good to have one’s iPod plugged in…
show me the COFFEE and forget the rest!!
you really had me laughing..

That may be the best book review ever! Loved the honesty–reminded me of when my sister posted on Amazon about ‘The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’, “If you love violence against women, then this is the book for you!”

And the waiting room description had me laughing out loud. I definitely would have opted for the coffee at home too.

Did the survey–hope it helps. Great podcast, as always.
