NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.  MAKING A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR ODDS OF WINNING.  The Odds of Winning depend on the actual number of qualifying Entries received prior to the contest deadline.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: This contest is open to legal residents of the United States who are 18 years of age or older. Employees of  J. Jill (the “Sponsor”), its affiliates, or its subsidiaries, and members of their immediate families or persons who reside in their households, are not eligible to participate.

PRIZE.  Each winner will be mailed a $50 J. Jill Gift card.

METHOD AND DATES OF ENTRY. To enter the contest, send us your short, personal stories of exciting professional goals of 250 words or less (“Entry” or “Entries”) to  Please send your story in the body of an e-mail. We will not accept attachments.  Stories over 250 words will be ineligible. Include your contact information: name, address and phone number.  Your Entry via e-mail is your acknowledgment that your essay may be featured on,, or in the Chaos Chronicles Podcast, or on Sponsor’s website or social media sites. We will accept Entries until October 19, 2010 at 12:00PM PST.

Limit: 1 Entry per person

SELECTION OF WINNERS AND AWARD OF PRIZES. Eight winners will be selected in all.  One weekly winner will be chosen by and one weekly winner will be chosen by starting Friday, October 1st , 2010 and then on each of Friday October 8, 15 and 22 from all eligible Entries received the prior contest week.   In order to be eligible for selection as a weekly winner, Entries must be received by 12:00 PM PST on the Tuesday before the Friday selection.  Entries will be judged by on writing quality (30%), personality (30%) and inspirational merit (40%). The winning essays will be featured on,, or in the Chaos Chronicles Podcast, or on Sponsor’s website or social media sites.  The winners will be selected by and based on the highest score received each week.  In the event of a tie, a random drawing will determine the winner.

Here’s the best part! Winners will be mailed a $50 Gift card from J. Jill within 30 days of selection for use at any J. Jill store at   Easy, Ageless, Cool.  Only at J. Jill.

OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS. Entrants represent that their essays are original and created by them exclusively and have not been copied in whole or in part from any other source, and that their essays do not infringe any intellectual property rights, trademark, or copyright rights owned by any other party and are not offensive, scandalous, defamatory, libelous or otherwise in violation of the right of any third party.

Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the prize for equal or greater value if the prize cannot be awarded as described. Prize may not be assigned, transferred, changed, exchanged, or redeemed for cash, except at the sole discretion of Sponsor.   The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, illegible, or misdirected entries, or any error, omission, alteration, interruption, deletion, defect or destruction of, or unauthorized access to entries. Entries submitted using any kind of automated technology will be disqualified. If the winner cannot be contacted based on the information provided, she shall forfeit her prize.  Sponsor is not responsible for lost or misdirected prizes mailed to the address provided by the winners.

Except where prohibited by law: (i) entry constitutes permission to use winner’s name, hometown, voice, likeness, photograph and essay for editorial, public relations, promotional and advertising purposes on behalf of Sponsor without compensation; (ii) winner may be required to complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release and Publicity Release. The awarding of the prize is contingent upon full compliance with these Official Rules.  Entrants agree that if winner refuses to provide required contact information or affidavit, is found to have violated the Official Rules, or otherwise does not meet eligibility criteria, prize will be forfeited.

If for any reason the drawing is not capable of running as planned due to tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor,  Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the drawing. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process.

By entering this contest, entrants release and hold harmless Sponsor, its parent, subsidiary and affiliated companies, respective subsidiaries, directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability or any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the contest, drawing, or acceptance or use of the prize. All federal, state, and local taxes applicable to the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. Where applicable, U.S. federal regulations require the issuance of a 1099 Form to the winner of any prize with a value in excess of $600. The contest is subject to the federal laws, the laws and regulations of the states where the contest is run and will be void to the extent prohibited by any applicable law.

Any dispute relating to the contest (including, without limitation, the selection of the winners and/or any dispute as to compliance with all of these Official Rules) shall be resolved by the Sponsor, in its sole and absolute discretion, and the decision of the Sponsor shall prevail. All decisions of the Sponsor shall be final and binding.

The information collected by the Sponsor in connection with entry into the contest will be used to select and contact the winner, in accord with the Official Rules. In addition, such information may be used by the Sponsor to add entrants to the Sponsor’s e-mail and catalog mailing lists, unless you advise us not to, and will be used by Sponsor internally, in accordance with the Sponsor’s privacy rules and policies.
